Fundoscopy

Ophthalmoscopy , also called funduscopy, is a test that allows our healthcare professional to see inside the fundus of the eye and other structures using an ophthalmoscope (or funduscope). It is done as part of our eye examination and may be done as part of a routine physical examination. An exam that uses a magnifying lens and a light to check the fundus of the eye (back of the inside of the eye, including the retina and optic nerve). The pupils may be dilated (enlarged) with medicated eye drops so the doctor can see through the pupil to the back of the eye.

At Opti-Care Eye Clinic, Fundoscopy may be used to check for eye problems, such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, eye cancer, optic nerve problems, or eye injury.
